NFMC
Now that the fireworks are on sale we're beginnning to hear them in the evenings. Nothing too bad but it's got me thinking about bonfire night. Is there anything specific I should do? Or just make sure the chickens are in their coop nice and early before the really big noise starts???
lindafw
last year I shut mine in the coop as soon as they went in and covered the coop with an old blanket to make it dark as possible so they settled early ...they did fine...but then we are quite rural so its dark anyway
surfer_chicken
So long as they are shut away in their coops they should be fine. You might miss out on eggs for a couple of days if they are frightened by the noises, but so far my chooks have survived 3 years worth of bonfire nights and new years eves without it affecting their egg laying
Space Chick
They are fast asleep when it goes dark..... They are fine
Ain't Nobody Here
Mine have never shown any reaction to fireworks at all . Yours will be fine .
Chickvic
Hemmy and Crystal will be shut up tight, but Amber, Onyx and Quartz like to roost in the WIR. Think we will wait until they're asleep then put them in the eglu for the night/s the fireworks are going off!
