Chucky Mama
OH is a real mobile phone phobic and I am looking for a user friendly phone that will sync with Outlook. Not a touch screen and it doesn't have to be a smart phone or a particularly flash modern one either. It has to be 3G and a good camera would be a bonus. I would like to get him a Blackberry and be done with it but he has a habit of making several pocket phone calls a day and so a slide or clam shell type phone that locks automatically would be good. Not sure such a phone exists The one that he was sold by Vodafone is rubbish. It doesn't sync with Outlook, mutes when he touches the touchscreen with his ear and makes pocket calls several times a day
redhotchick
See now I hesitate to suggest a phone as it may be the one he already has! I'm not sure that there is a phone that syncs with Outlook that isn't a touchscreen. So ignoring your request for it to be "not a touchscreen" can I timidly suggest an HTC? I believe it does sync with outlook if some techy stuff that I can't explain is in place
Chucky Mama
Thanks, the phone that he has is the Xperia X10 Mini Pro. Looking at the price that they fetch 2nd hand it looks like he is not the only one not to be impressed I'll have a look at the HTC
The Dogmother
I have just got an HTC Wildfire after being impressed by a colleague's. I must say that it does everything that you ask and you can set a screen lock to avoid pocket dialling. I'm no phone buff and prefer them to be easy and basic but I really like this one and am very impressed. The online manual is very user friendly too. Geoid
I agree with the HTC Wildfire, has all the functions you need and is very easy to use. You can also get cases which cover the screen when not in use so pocket dialing will be prevented.
chickencam
I also have a HTC Wildfire S, and funnily enough my OH has an X10 Mini Pro, he loves his phone,(particularly the slide out qwerty keyboard) and when his contract came up for renewal decided that he didn't want a new phone because he liked his so much, so he got the Wilfire S for me because he was entitled to a free phone on his contract. I didn't want a new phone I was perfectly happy with my old Ericsson flip phone, having said that the Wildfire is so easy to use I have taken to it like a duck to water. My one comment would be that I struggle in areas of poor reception the X10 wins out there and my YD's cheap as chips Vodafone phone from Argos has the best reception of all our family phones
snowberry
I have the HTC Wildfire Z which has a slide out keyboard as well as touchscreen; I love it & it can be locked with a button on the top that is suprisingly eay to find!
Cinnamon
I don't have the Wildfire, but am a huge HTC fan & use the more techy Desire, which is amazing.. Great phones - really reliable & user friendly.
