I thought that I'd start this thread as so many of us seem to (trying to) sell our houses at the moment.

Fingers crossed for my second person viewing my house at 5.15pm today. It's been on the market since August & I so wish this lady is my knight in shining armour The problem is that Powers That Be have decided that the heliport at Penzance would look so much better in our sleepy village Grrr! There are 'STOP THE HELIPORT' posters all over the village that freak visitors out

We've got 'Stop the Gravel Pit' posters all over our village and a housing dev of 300 'homes' going up so selling right now is probably not an option. All the same one house near me sold in just 2 weeks. I think they must have had the price too low. The house next to me (which is vacant posession) took 3 months for a 'sold' board to go up but the sale is not going very quickly as it has now been 'sold' for over a month.

there are posters and billboards everywhere! i think its a NIMBY kinda thing

Do people want electricity? Yes, then if you want electricity you have to have pylons too...

Anyway the new pylons look quite nice

I rather like the look of those that won the competition; however back to the Heliport! It's being sold so that Sainsbury's can have the land. The money from the sale won't stay in West Cornwall but go to Scotland to aid the helicopter company. It's losing money all the time; placing it on the outskirts of our village will affect lots of houses (rather than the helicopters going out to sea, they will circle over our houses), farming, wildlife etc. It all comes down to greed & money...the diesel fumes can be smelt miles away

we are looking to buy , and there not much out there in our town tbh

 

all the houses we see on a certain website , that are in the location, location bracket, look nice on first reaction to the house, but when we view them or there pics uploaded of the inside, there always somethink wrong I.E) weird shape garden ( smallest on the estate) or next to a electicity hub or on mega busy main road or alot smaller than stated or a 2 bed house turned into a a cramped 3 bed house due to moving internal wall partitions...... i know it sounds picky, but when your spending money on somewhere that you may be for a while we want to find somewhere decent . ive found this with my house that i cant sell

 

i tried selling my house last year and start of this year and had nooo luck what so ever, my house is classed as a first time buyers house, so until FTB get a decent deposit together then i wont be selling mine anytime soon

i know how frustraiting it is, seeing sold signs up down the roads ect and urs still no where near that , so il be renting mine out until the market picks up

We moved nearly 3 months ago now - best thing we ever did. We are a bit unusual, as still got our old house too.

Probably put it on the market next year. So glad we got what we wanted!

To others who are moving, wanting to move & /or selling their houses - good luck! It will happen!

Fred, totally agree about NIMBYs and electricity; here they moan about pylons and wind turbines, but still expect cheap electricity in the middle of nowhere. Rant over.
