Any idea of cost to get this done? please? It always looks nice and is supposed to be good for wildlife etc

A lot depends on access and condition of the hedge but I think its about £10-£15 a metre for a reasonably straightforward job

I know students from our local agricultural college are always looking for projects, so maybe see if your local agg college is interested?

If you look up a forum member called compostwoman (doesn't post much any more) there's a link to her website; she teaches hedge-laying etc and would probably be happy to advise you - she's really lovely.

Aren't there grants available for conservation & this type of hedging?

Seen it at a place near us called Cors Caron - it does look lovely!

Thanks for the responses I will look into all suggestions ie agri college etc but today I was quoted £30 per meter so that will be over £3k for 100meters! urgh I am changing my good intentioned mind!

 

I will try to get some other quotes but that is too much. Ithough it would be half that amount & lower. It will take 2 weeks to do.
