Cheeky Chooky
After reading the thread about dust baths, I ordered the girls a plastic dog bed (which was only £9 including delivery!) and I was outside with my torch at 7pm last night filling it with soil, diatom and leaves The things we do for our girls! Anyway, after some trepidation this morning, it has been inspected and seems to have passed the test ...although no actual dust bathing has taken place in it yet! Cheeky Chooky
Know what you mean, I was watching clouds of compost being flung out across the run by little chooky feet
jennym
I love that, I'm going to get one ASAP. I've been feeling guilty as they haven't been getting out much and I'm sure they miss their daily dustbath-in-the-borders. They're on dirt in the run atm (wood chips on order) but apparently that dirt just isn't the same, so I'll be sure to fill the bed with the RIGHT dirt A quick check at our high street pounds shops today, methinks, and I'll order one for delivery if not. Cheeky Chooky
A quick update on whether the dog bed dust bath is actually a success or not...came home one lunch time earlier this week to see Adelaide and Matilda happily using it I've bought some play sand now so once I've got the WIR which will give me easier access to it I'll re-do the dust bath and add some sand as well
