Mum
I have one pekin bantam that is having her first moult (she is >1yr) The rest of my flock are all <1yr but there are the odd feathers laying around which I can identify as coming from probably all of them. Thinking logically, we humans all lose hair on a daily basis, so I'm thinking that maybe this is just old feathers coming out ready to be replaced by warmer (winter) feathers? There are not signs of aggressive behaviour amongst the flock so I don't think it is due to an aggressive bird. What do you think? Tweety
One of my Frizzles, coming up to 12 months old, is having a mini moult at the moment - just a few feathers on top of her head and round her neck - so I would say yes.

percy049
Our bluebelle started have a massive moulting about a month ago when she was just over a year old. Luckily, she's just about over it, apart from being covered in feather spikes, and loads of the keratin stuff in the droppings tray!

Irrespective of age, seems its more about amount/degree of moult.
