We added two more very quickly Enjoy them. Chrissie

jennym
Ah, don't worry, with 4 hybrids you'll soon be overrun with eggs! Fingers crossed for an eggy day tomorrow
Purplemaniacs
They take a while to start laying every day so you will get some days when they don't lay. Last winter the four new hybrids, their first winter kept us in eggs and DS lived at home then and he ate loads of eggs One of my two oldest girls Latte (4) has decided this week to lay 3 eggs none of the others are laying Chrissie
The Mcconnochies
nothng in a week.... hoping all the girls are OK. They seem to all want to roost in the laying section....not sure if that might account for the lack of Any thoughts?
Duncan08
I have 3 hybrids, pepper pot, ginger nut and a bluebell. They are about 12 months old now. They all roost in the nest box of the , I have tried discouraging them with upturned flowerpots but that just seems to be where they like to be I think the go could sleep about 10 girls as all 3 of them sleep on top of each other in the nest box. No idea how they manage to get any sleep Your girls will start laying regularly when they are ready. I doubt their sleeping arrangments will have any effect. Only hybrid will lay consistently in the winter, and my girls will all have days off at the moment, so I would expect young ladies will take a little while to get going in the winter. Pooey eggs are the big downside of sleeping in the nestbox,I have my new cube in place and just waiting to fit the mesh to the WIR, can't wait hoping to get them out of the nest box habit when they move into the big house
