Duncan08
I am going to try and post some pictures of my new WIR and my new so here goes. This should be a picture of the WIR! This should be the girls enjoying a dustbath, given that they have been in mud and on the patio for the last month they loved it! This is the cube and the rear of the run leading out to the "paddock" We recycled some of the old run to put a door panel under the so they could go straight out. The Paddock, which was supposed to be my Exotic plant plot And finally just a side on view of the Cube meeting the run. It took us a while to get there, and I still need to add a couple of perches, swing maybe, seat definitely. But I cannot believe just how much easier this is to keep clean and dry. Hope this works Edited January 3, 2012 by Guest

Duncan08
Thank you! I have to say ANH, yours was my inspiration, many months ago Lots of hints and tips on this site, and problems I have come across personally have all been dealt with and after all the mud of the last 6 weeks I am so pleased to be able to enjoy the girls again properly. The kickboards, make such a difference, the gravel with the thick layer of easibed wood chips would go all over the garden if I hadn't picked up that tip. Under the Cube there is a paved spot and that is where they get their treats, (leftovers) in a bowl. Again, one of the problems in the Go run was that not only did you have poop to clean up but they wouldn't eat everything and you ended up with rotting food. We thought we were being nice giving them stuff to scratch for but no more, you can just sweep it up now, as it is easily contained. I love that we can just let them out through their little door under the cube. And I love that they have lots of room to stay dry. Whilst they really didn't bother too much to get out of the rain, it always bothered me, and I hated them being covered in mud all the time. Watching the girls get used to the ladder was fun - and Pepper still wont go down it, she always just launches herself from the top, but they are all very happy. Their first full day was Christmas day and we only got one egg, since then we have had a full complement everyday, in the right place, (clever little chickens) so I am sure they are very happy in their new home. I am a very happy Chicken Mother now, and so pleased with my christmas present
