Pikey
Epona ..............wow I've been trying to get some eggs for years from Holland without success as keep a couple of Friesins.....I would love to have colours other than the chamois. Do let me know how you get on as I am looking for a cockerel to breed my two from. I got mine from Sailisbury rare breed auction...they usually have these 3rd Saturday of the month. harnej
I've had a chat with the Breed Registra of the Rare Poultry Society, he's very impressed with our aims to import eggs and improve the UK strains of Friesians. He used top have some Red Pencilled, but just has Chamois currently, LF & Banty. He entered a Banty in the National Show last weekend, but the judge said it was a little too large? I'll more than likely put a few words in one of their newsletters + I'm going to meet him at the Federation Show in December, so will compare the one lonesome banty cockerel I have and the LF's. May also put some Photos of the Red Pencilled on Omlet. Jeff Satffordshire.
Redwing
Red pencilled sound good. I've had Friesians and liked them but the most common colouring does nothing for me, a richer colour would be very nice I'd imagine
Chortle Chook
I'd love a Fresian as they are so pretty, but is it true that they are really flighty. I can't remember where but I know I've read that somewhere.
Redwing
Mine were quite lovely as most light breeds are but they were also quite handle-able (is that a word??) and happily lived in a run I found them very similar to my Welsummer bantams which are a delight
