Dog meets friendly cows

Recommended Posts

I agree, it could have gone either way. Cows tend to be far more wild and unpredictable these days. The number of people killed by cows over the last couple of years illustrates how dangerous they can be :(

I wonder why that is? Is it due to the breed of cow, or perhaps they are kept/managed differently nowadays? Or they don't get as much exposure to dogs?

I certainly wouldn't let Tango anywhere near cows, she is a terror for barking at anything - and chasing - and I wouldn't trust her not to start a stampede

I think that they have far less contact with people and are handled far less. They can be quite wild now. It used to be just 1 slightly stroppy cow or bullock in a field of many that might have a go, especially if you have a dog, but now it is the majority that are stroppy. I don't take any risks any more.
