Is anyone else acquainted with this rather violent young man?!

 

Have just finished my first ever Jack Reacher story and am totally hooked. Rushed to the library to get another one and grabbed the only one on the shelf.

 

Does it matter if I read them out of order?

I haven't read them in order, I think there may be a thin story line linking them, I can't remember.

I think I have read most of the books, nearly in the right order, but not quite!

 

Yes, the stories link but not so much that if you read them out of order they don't make sense. For example, there may be references to things in Jack's past that were the subject of a different book.

I read the first one - 'The Killing Floor' in 4 days - couldn't put it down! Have now got '61 hours' from the library - looks like a much later one. Can't wait to start it.

Oooooh, I've never heard of these books so just happened to tootle over to Amazon and a copy of "Killing Floor" (I think that's the first one) might just happen to have accidentally fallen into my basket ...

REALLY must stop looking at this Forum ...

From memory The Killing Floor was the first one and 61 Hours is the latest (with 6 or 7 in the middle)

 

I only found one that was a bit average, can't remember which one, but it only seemed average because the others are so good.

 

Apparently a film is being made of The Killing Floor with Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher - as Jack is an ex marine and is 6ft 6" and built like the proverbial outhouse that seems very strange casting. Ah I hear you say, Tom Cruise owns the film rights to the book

I noticed that a film version is coming out next year, so wanted to get to read the book before all the film hype starts ... that's my story anyway, and I'm sticking to it!!!!
