The Dogmother
Clicky Do bear in mind that it's a legal requirement to make sure that your dog is secure and restrained in the car

The Dogmother
No idea - I guess it's worth phoning up to find out - could just be a clever bit of viral marketing, or could be true.
welovemarmite
mine isnt there. Am hoping to get my puppy next week, so thinking about this. When i get him i have a dog cage that i used for chicken intros, that i will clean up. Hoping i can get it on the back seat and put the front seat down so that the pup can see me rather than put it in the boot. He might find it a bit strange and we have about an hour and a half journey.. Hubbie is at work and the friend i was going to ask to come with me has her puppies due any day, so its not fair to ask her to come with me. The Dogmother
Just so long as you can secure the crate on the back seat. I'd put it in the boot TBH.
welovemarmite
It may well end up in the boot. But will have a play and see if i can secure it. Once I have him I plan to try him with a harness so he can sit in the car.
The Dogmother
You might want to check that he doesn't get car sick before you let him on your seats - most puppies do sick up in cars for the first few weeks.
welovemarmite
I have a lot to learn...... i picked up a book yesterday but its only on training and not about doggy care.... i have worked out which end is which...
The Dogmother
It's best to keep them in the boot in a crate at first, then progress to a dog guard and a long line to attach them to the car until they learn not to jump out when you open the door. The 'wait' command is one of the best to teach a youngster; it's quite easy to teach with their food or treats... even my brainless ginger eejit has mastered it, to a degree
