Does anyone know exactly how protective the skirt section on the Omlet run is? Omlet state that it is fox proof but I was wondering if anybody has any experience of a fox tunnelling in- God forbid

Foxes tend to try digging up against the barrier, so the skirt works to stop them getting in that way.

 

The only account I have heard of a fox burrowing in was many years ago when the owners had re-sited their eglu and run on a recently dug veg patch... it was bound to get in really

It is described as fox resistant these days. I have all my eE on paving slabs, to ensure that nothing can tunnel in from below. I weigh them down with boulders.

the only really vulnerable spot is under the front corners of the Eglu, there should be two small squares of run mesh here (one under each corner) but on secondhand Eglus these have sometimes been lost

 

Without these two square the spot where the run meets the Eglu is a spot where a fox could get in.

 

Apart from that and the soft ground case above I think it would be unlikely that a fox could dig in

My skirt has disappeared under grass which as grown over it. I think that might confuse a fox.
