Has anyone ever bought plants (as opposed to seeds) from T&M before? I realised after Christmas that I had £5 in Clubcard vouchers, and I used them to get a £15 voucher for T&M, and treated myself to 2 Buddleia plants. First, I was told they would arrive the last week in March, then they didn't, and when I phoned I was told it was because they weren't quite strong enough to be sent, and would be sent mid April. They arrived yesterday, and I'm not impressed. If I had actually handed over cash for them, I'd be sending them right back, and if I'd seen them sitting in the garden centre, I would have passed them by. One is looking slightly better than it did yesterday, but the other only has two branches, one of which has no signs of growth.

Before I complain to them, is this normal for T&M, or have I just been unlucky?

I use them for plug plants as who ever do's their pricking out for them isn't very good at it so you end up with extra plants

it could be that the plants are still dorment and need a little bit of warmth and TLC as they good have been in cold store but I'd still get in contact with them asap so that there is a record that the plants might not be up to standard

I posted earlier this year as I had a big problem with T&M delivery of seed potatoes and onion sets, when they did eventually arrive they were of inconsistent and poor quality - however this is the first year I have ever had a problem with T&M like this.

The plug plants were, on the other hand, of very good quality and arrived as expected.

Talking to them it seems they may have changed some of their systems and/or suppliers this year (I got conflicting info from my phone calls), so whether this applies to their plants I don't know.

I would certainly ring them and express your disappointment, it doesn't matter how you paid for them it's still money you could have spent elsewhere. Hopefully they will either replace them or send you some vouchers - I have received £15 of vouchers from them this year, although this doesn't make up for how late the seed potatoes were or their poor quality but that's another complaint waiting to be made :shameonu: .

I grew an expensive packet of sweet peas a couple of years ago but they didn't grow at all.

I sent them an email giving all the details and they sent me another packet straight away. Mind you these didn't grow either and I haven't got round to complaining again.

But I was impressed with how quick they were to respond.

My mum and dad were also disappointed by some tiny outdoor orchids they bought, they complained too and got sent another set, but I must admit I wouldn't have given any money for them.

I've had a few things. My seed potatoes weren't very good and have not chitted very well. I'm going to plant them and some ordinary eating ones I got from Tesco that sprouted and I will compare the difference.

Also, you never know when you will get the stuff so it might not be a convenient time to plant when they arrive.
