Fired up the incy!

Recommended Posts

Mine have been ticking over in the inccy whilst we've been in Vegas... Due to hatch on Saturday

We are hatching Burford Browns and Cotswold legbars so we decided that candling would be a challenge with the dark shells so we haven't done it :anxious: so we are leaving to fate

Hope your budding gold laced romance will result in chicks honey.

I have a Wyandotte broody nightmare at the moment... I've never seen such a violent broody, she goes into a realllllllly vicious attack mode whenever you try and take 'her' eggs

The eggs stop turning tomorrow morning! I've set up the brooder ready - although electric hen not switched on yet.

Tonight I saw egg number 1 jerk, not wiggle like usual. Hmm wonder what that's all about? It actually made me jump, as it was a right good jerk. An interesting next few days for me. My mum is coming over too - so she gets to watch a hatch. :D

We heard Tumble cheep on day 16  and she (I hope) hatched on day 17 :shock: caused panic as we were geared up for hatchiing on day 21 which all the others waited for.

I was amazed to hear the cheeping, first time we heard it was when we were candling and after that I had my ear glued to the incubator to hear it again.

Good luck with your hatch craftyhunnypie.

I got 5 out of 6 eggs hatch over the course of the weekend. They are little cuties. One of them is an absolute devil. Always runs out from the electric hen, when I go in the brooder room. Although all Gold Laced Wyandottes, there is quite a difference in some of the colours. They range from almost black with gingerish markings & eyeliner, to chocolate with go faster stripes , ginger markings & eyeliner, to a beige with go faster stripes, ginger markings & eyeliner. I have the parent birds who are typical of the breed, so why such differences? Could it be a difference between male & female? :?

I have taken pics & will put them up here tomorrow.

They love playtime with me & I love spending time with them - teaching them to be tame. I feel more wyandotte hatching very soon - love wyandottes. :D

Congratulations Emma - that's a great hatch and they sound really cute. We got one Gold Laced Wyandotte out of our weekend hatch - I only had 3 GLW eggs, all 3 hatched but two chicks died. One of the dead chicks was completely golden, the other looked dark and the surviving chick is mostly dark with little yellow flashes - can't wait to see how he colours up. Shall look out for your pics!

Emma they sound gorgeous x

So nice to spend time with chicks when they hatched in an incy, they become so friendly (although I do have a nasty cockeral from last years hatch whos days are numbered but you could tell he wasn't as friendly in the beginning as the others)

I'm finding it harder to tame this year brood - with mum running about all over the place - they are coming around - or should I say my hand that feeds them is becoming a friend to them! But they do cheep "murder"when I hold them !

Love to see photos x
