Lewis
I've been wanting to hatch again for ages, was going to be sensible and wait until I finish exams for the Summer ... buut I got a bit carried away and have 4 hatches on the go 2 broody pekin sisters at home on eggs in a couple of broody coops in Tub Trugs... Annie's (on the left) 3 are due next weekend - Pekins and Speckled Sussex x Araucana Dorothy's (Red on right) 5 are due weekend after - Pekins, Barred Plymouth Rock and Speckled Sussex x Araucana 6 white and magpie Call Duck eggs in a new Brinsea Mini I bought from Cotswold Chickens which are due in 3 weeks time! Oh, and 12 mixed eggs due to go in my Octagon 10 I have at Uni for a friend - I think they're Frizzle, Booted Bantam + German Langshans! Tempted to set some quail eggs from the Organic shop next door, just to see if they're fertile as a friend is after a couple new quail! Not completely irresponsible hatching btw, I do have plans for the chicks - the ones here are going back to my friend for showing, already have a couple homes for any girls and any others can go to work If I can't rehome the boys that hatch I can do the deed. Griffin
I am in awe and terribly happy to see such an obvious soloution for keeping bedding out the way of the door on those coops Why didn't I think of that? For the benefit of those without them, those coops are a nightmare to close if anything gets in the way of the hinges on the door
