Singalingz
We have a number of piles of twigs and leaves etc around the garden and I have been considering doing something about them. But the other day when I was chatting to my neighbor I noticed a few solitary bees heading into them, so I assume they are nesting in there. Does anyone know when I could sort out the piles without ruining all their hard work? I have had a look on the Internet but I can't find a definitive answer. Old Speckled Hen
Solitary bees will lay eggs, provision them with food, seal up the burrow/tunnel entrance and fly away. They don't actually nest. So I think it is probably safe for you to tidy up.
Singalingz
Thanks for that. Now I just have to get motivated!
