My daughter has been to Reading for a day before, but this weekend for the first time she is camping at a festival - I have just seen photos on the news!

I have tolder her to make sure the tent guy ropes are kept tight!

It's going to be mental out there! Be ready for lots of washing...including the tent! I'm sure she'll have a great time though. Brilliant bands on. My partner chickened out & sold his ticket!

 

I went to a festival in similar (but worse!) weather. It was a mud bath...but we still had fun anyway. However, come time to leave many cars couldn't get out of the car park. They bought tractors in to pull the cars Out and it was carnage as the tractors made huge ruts in the ground which they then dragged the cars over. There were bumpers and tyres everywhere. Luckily I parked near the exit!!

 

My tip - plastic bags inside boots if u don't have Wellies!

They have wellies, plenty of plastic bags a tent I wouldn't mind if it gets ruined (but I hope it will last for Reading as well). She had been out camping with friends and walking Wed/Thur, has stayed at a friends and gone on to Download from there - I will not see her until Monday night after school, so I hope she gets de-mudded before school, however she might need to rethink the taking all her stuff with her to school and bringing it back on the school bus!

Bar humbug, we got caught in the horrendous traffic that Download caused, when we went that way to view a house nearby this afternoon!!!!! Could hear the horrid thump thump coming from it at the viewing - we won't be buying (not because of download)!

DS binned tent after Reading last year as it was beyond help He is at Download for the weekend and I don't expect to see him before Monday pm.

 

We have been going to a festival for the last few years and DS used to come with us when he was younger. However, after a weekend in the mud last year, OH said he was not going again and so this year I have no festival to look forward to. This year's weather is doing little to persuade him to change his mind for 2013

My DS and his girlfriend are also at Download, they went on Weds so have managed to catch most of the rain! They text on Thursday to say that the tent (brand new!) leaked and all of their things were soaked but they stuck it out and I'm collecting them tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to the mess, am planning on covering the entire inside of the car in tarpaulins

At least they're having fun!

We went for the day on Saturday. Was fab, although incredibly muddy. We were lucky and didn't have any rain while we were there. Hope everybody survived the mud & rain & had a good time.
