Mercedes55
OH and I take a Vit D supplement as neither of us likes sitting out in the sun and our GP said we should. We don't take a high dose, not sure those are very good for you.

Cinnamon
I think that if you are lacking in something that you cannot get from your diet, then they are a good idea. My daughter is veggie, but she is a bad veggie who doesn't really eat very well,so I make sure she has a vitamin every so often, probably just for my own peace of mind. She has a veggie Omega oils supplement. My Husband likes to take a multi vitamin too,as he works manually & as he is getting older,he is getting stiff joints - he finds that the vitamin he uses helps this. That said,I reckon a good, healthy, fresh balanced diet should cover most eventualities & give a body all it needs
Ain't Nobody Here
Don't take any. I occasionally think I should, so buy some but I never manage to keep it up for very long.
Looney
I generally agree with the theory that if you are eating a healthy, balanced diet then there should be no need for vitamins however, although I think I eat pretty well, I have recently started taking soluble multivitamins as I have caught one cold after another and feel generally rubbish - I figured they might help in some way I chose the soluble ones as it also makes me have an extra glass of water a day! Lavenders_Blue
I'm a veggie and take Omega 3 every day. I do have some multivitamins, but don't take them as a matter of course, usually only if I've had a rubbish eating day and am likely not to have got all the vitamins and minerals that I need from my food. But as a rule, I think a balanced diet should provide you with everything you need without the need for supplementation.
counturchickens
My Dh takes all sorts, I call them his placebos I don't take any, neither of us get colds and flu very often. I put this down to working out in the garden a lot and eating all the veg. In fact, I used to get lots of colds in the winter, but not since we had an allotment. Also, we drink plenty of red wine
craftyhunnypie
I don't agree with anything like that. They weren't around yonks ago, so why now? I'm a firm believer that we can get everything we want from our food. Emma.x
