We've almost completed our walk in run  (seems to have taken such a long time, bad weather, busy working etc). Now its almost there we are looking at suitable bedding. We were hoping to use aubiose as we've put on a roof but the paving slabs are still getting quite damp, (blowing through mesh and seeping under frame). Would aubiose be a waste? Is there anything similar that could cope with a bit of damp? Not sure about woodchip cos of availability and cost. Any ideas gratefully received xxx

I bought wood chip for the run at 8.50 for 75 litre and I got 4 bags. The woodchip will last for ages in this weather and is a lot more hygienic - plus it doesn't retain water which allows rain to go through it.

As for aubiose, I use this as a base in the house and in the nest box. I find that I only need to pick out the dirty bits as their poop and other waste clumps together so there is not as much wastage as some other products where you have to change the whole lot regularly - I just 'refresh' it during the week before my big clean out.

Hope that helps!

I've always been an aubiose fan but my supplier stopped stocking it. So went to easibed. Anyway was in Kennelgate the otehr day getting cat food and saw a bale of hemcore - love it! Smells nice and its great in hte run and nest box. Hopefully they will continue to stock it, it was the only bale they had. My kennelgate girls are so nice I am sure they will order it for me
