laurmurf
hi all, some of you will know that I was a very lucky girl and got a poly langstroth for my big birthday. Here are a couple of photos of it painted a very pretty yellow, set up in the field next door and with a very lovely queen busily making babies inside! not a very fetching photo but you get the idea. she's much prettier! Olly
Great picture - I never seem to have the camera handy! It's a lovely colour as well, what a great 50th present.
Chicken shack
I now have a bee hive that out farmer bought over. He comes and checks on it so I get to see the bees busying about without the worry of not knowing what to do. In return he gives me honey. Old Speckled Hen
Lovely colour. Have you marked queenie yet?
laurmurf
She was marked by our beek who bred/hatched (?) her for us but the paint has worn off! We checked the hive again last week and saw some signs of them being hungry - poor wee souls - so we fed them some sugar syrup. I'm planning to inspect again today/tomorrow to see how they're doing. very exciting!
Old Speckled Hen
Yes, I'm feeding mine too. Keep that yellow pen handy next time you look in. It's not so easy looking for an unmarked queen in a full hive
