Unsecure chicken perches

Hi

 

I have been offered a red Classic (with 3 metre run) for £130. I think that's a good price and I'm tempted to go for it so that I can get 2 more chickens, but should I just invest in a Cube? Or maybe I should buy it, then sell both Classics and buy a Cube?

 

Help! What would you do?

That's a very good price so it's be rude not to buy it, even if you do end up selling one Classic to finance a cube and keeping t'other for introductions/isolation.

Just noticed it's an original Classic (mark 1). That puts me off a bit as I wouldn't be able to get parts if anything went wrong.

Hmmm, not such a bargain then... personally I wouldn't bother in that case.

Strange but I notice the Mark 1 also go for almost as much as the Mart 2 on ebay. I find that puzzling! I would put in a cheeky offer of £100 telling the seller that the newer models are greatly improved etc. You can still sell it on later and still get your money back pluss a bit more.

depends if you need a spare home - for introductions, poorly hens etc. I wouldn't rely on an old model as a permanent home, but an extra space can be very useful

Thanks for the thoughts. I'll mull it over for a day or two, but I'm thinking I'll just go for a Cube and use the old Classic for isolation and intros.

That's what I'd do; I kept my classic and it's been very useful.
