Our walk in run lets water seep under the frame on to the slabs too. Decided not to do too much just went for a different bedding as was going to use aubiose, now use easibed but to be honest its only week one of the run actually occupied and today is first rain test. I have put up a clear tarpaulin round one corner to stop wind and rain blowing in and that's worked really well to keep their dust bath dry. Xx

Hi, I have hardwood chippings in my run, with large tarpaulins from ebay over it. As its on paving we got round the issue of water leaking in by using link a board (from Omlet) which is placed on the outer edge of the skirt and the gap is filled with more chippings. This seems to be enough to soak up water and the inside of the run stays nice and dry. We also have matting, its actually caravan matting, as a barrier and the wood chip is on top of that.

We are in the process of putting down a concrete base for a new walk in run and are going to use the same system.
