LolaLayla
I got my Silkies in January and they have free ranged with my original hybrids for a long while. Sometimes the situation is more harmonious than others However I have not managed to get them to share the same eglu. I did try once and then one of my hybrids became ill and I went back to using two eglus. On Tuesday I cleaned out both the eglus and was really fed up with the situation (probably not helped by it aggravating my bad back). Anyway I decided to let them have one eglu to share and surprisingly once it was dark they were all in there quite happy. There had been a bit of pushing and shoving leading up to darkness but they seemed fine and have survived two nights now with no injuries. The Silkies still get bossed about a bit but it has actually worked positively as Estelle was starting to be a bit broody but the hybrids got her out the nest box so that one of them could lay so all's well

zakjon-98
Glad it's worked out does that mean that you have a spare eglu you could fill?!
LolaLayla
Yes, I do have a spare eglu but I think I have most of my extra time filled with looking after puppy so will just keep it for emergencies All still going well
Ain't Nobody Here
That's good news . Anything that saves you damaging your back again can't be bad .
