Luvachicken
These are my 2 new chicks finally enjoying freedom from the hamster cage and finding soil on Saturday. Suzie is the gingery one and Gemma ( named after the vet who tried to make Heidi better ) the browny one. They had a whale of a time and spent ages having their first proper bath together. Queenie and Lucie kept well away from them and stuck to eating the corn. Bedtime cuddles wasn't as relaxed as normal. The younger chicks nabbed the spot that Queenie and Lucie ususally have, and pecked them too. They were not impressed. When it came to going to bed, we shut them in the cat box and put a dark towel over the top.....it soon went very quiet. I got up at 6.15 , but couldn't hear any squabbling so I left them ( and me ) to sleep a bit longer. I let them out at 7 and the big girls came out first only to be chased by the littlies. Since I've been in there hasn't been much commotion really.............but I won't be there at bedtime tonight, so I hope they behave. Gertie
What lucky girls. They all look very happy. I wish there was a human dustbath equivalent - simple and effective!!
Luvachicken
Great video I love the little noises they are making I'm sure they got louder as they had more fun, in fact one of them found it first and must have announced it to the other. If only they'd known that just over the purple wood was the biggest dust bath instead of the tiny space they were in
