When I withdraw the droppings tray and roosting bars, the table underneath has lots of mouse dropping on it but the mouse is nowhere to be seen....... HarrisonFamily Posted October 23, 2012 Share Posted October 23, 2012 I have on a couple of times found a mouse nest under my Go but the chickens soon caught and chased the mice......(not so nice to watch but the one that escaped didn't come back........or got eaten if it did return....) sage Posted October 24, 2012 Share Posted October 24, 2012 I saw one of my girls sat next to a mouse the other day, she looked as if to say what the h*ll are you, then walked off leaving the mouse to eat her corn. What I have been doing is as soon as they are in bed I shut them in and lay the traps in the run then remove them before opening the door in a morning. Jenthelibrarian Posted October 26, 2012 Share Posted October 26, 2012 Good timing, this thread I went out this evening to give my hens their supper [yes, I'm soft on them but Josephine has been on antibiotics and I need to get her tonic powder down her ] I thought poor Josie was choking, or had somehow bunged her beak up with a big chunk of their woodchip. I ran to get my husband to help. The horrid hen was scoffing down a mouse. The sight/sound of Mathilda tucking into cucumber and sweetcorn [lightly dresses with a litle yoghurt and seasoned with Nettex Poultry Mineral Powder] distracted Josie and we dragged the mangled corpse out of the run with the poop rake.
