Is your dog's unusual barking a secret code for something mysterious?

Hi All,

Can you tell me if I should do anything special for my girls over the weekend, as Im sure that there will be loads of fireworks going off all over the place.

This is my first year with Chooks and Im a little unsure.

Any advice would be appreciated.

No, you don't need to do anything special at all. Your chooks won't be in the slightest bit bothered by the fireworks going off

They should all be tucked up in bed by time it all starts

The first year I had them we had loads right over our garden and I was so worried that in the morning they would have all died of fright -

 

I let them out in the morning and they all came rushing out of the coop like every other morning! It has no effect on them at all! Which is great

Last year my neighbours let of fireworks in their garden, quite happy about this until I realised they were letting them off close to the fence next to the chicken run where my girls were happily sleeping in their house ! I was not amused but luckily they didn't seem at all bothered by it. Still I'm hoping it won't happen again, mind you my girls and boy are on holiday at my mums collecting them tomorrow pm ....

I was abit worried about my 3 tonight and wondered if I should cover them with something to deaden the noise. The school display is at the end of the lane so quite close. Hope they'll be okay

We had two firework displays fairly close and last night one at the end of the garden... dont worry, mine slept through everything!! Popped out the hole this morning like nothing happened! Wish I could say the same for the dog he was fine on Sat but yesterday had a really good barking session... I have been reading up on ttouch and will be getting some help with that for the future.....

 

Im sure your girls will be ok providing they are closed in.

Yes they are shut up in their eglu. Firework display is going on now. Hope they're okay. My dog is pacing. He usually sleeps through it....
