starboyhull
Did you all see the research in December which said that free-range chicken was not so tasty or so good for you as battery chicken? Here it is. You will all hate it. I cant say I agree with the findings on the taste (as I think it tastes so much better also looks better), but as for the other aspects of the meat, If they say it contains less nutrients and the like then unless they are lying it must be fact......I know which I would choose though, even if this study is correct. Olly
Did you all see the research in December which said that free-range chicken was not so tasty or so good for you as battery chicken? You will all hate it. Forgive me Gallina, but what the article says is that organic chicken is fattier and has no additional nutritional value - it doesn't say free-range. Although I would assume that organic chicken was free-range as well. And the Soil Association does say that this contradicts other research. I have had friends looking a bit doubtful when I serve up organic, free-range chicken because the meat is not the dry, pallid white that they are used to - they sometimes think it isn't fully cooked. I have to point out that the meat is darker, because these chickens have actually used their legs and run around. I think there is no comparison between the two - I couldn't stomach battery chicken, in either sense!
