Frozen Shoulder

Recommended Posts

I had it for ages and they were to refer me to have it injected with cortisone - the waiting list for the injection from the consultant was 6 months!!! - I could not stand the not sleep pain. I went to an accupuncture lady who was registered etc and she cured it and touch wood never had since!. I had it injected years before so I am pleased its not come back.

I have apparently got an inflamed shoulder muscle and can't do much either! I know where you are at, it is deadly boring! On ibuprofen which the GP said will take 48 hrs to kick in, I am on 12 hours at the moment and it hasn't done much yet. Not allowed to do anything energetic for the next 2 weeks. I use the heat pads which you pop in the microwave and have a thick scarf on. Both of those help me. Hope you get better soon.

Thanks for the advice :) , I'll have to work myself up to putting ice on it as I don't want anything touching it at the moment but if it helps I'll definitely give it a go.

After taking the painkillers I managed to do something productive by sorting out all my paperwork on the computer so at least I didn't have a totally wasted day.

Think the painkillers are disagreeing with me now, spent the night really itchy and today have felt dizzy and nauseous :( . Hoping I can manage using just the ice and maybe some paracetamol and ibuprofen.

More sunshine today, I did manage to spend an hour in the garden but unfortunately that was just talking to the builder from the insurance company re the building of the retaining wall that fell down in January  .

I presume that is not a viral thing? There seem to be a lot of people ill around here with very sore backs necks and shoulders. they have also had a temperature and felt a bit flu like.

I have had similar problems in the past and find that gentle stretching exercises help, you can't be more than gentle because it hurts too much.

Hope that you get some relief soon.

The doctor has told me to keep up the ibuprofen  , and says she feels physio or maybe osteopathy is the way to go.

I'm concerned a lot of this may stem from my prolapsed disc a couple of years ago as my Pilates teacher says my body is never straight. Will have to have a think about what to do

LBB - I have had remedial massage before but it never seems to have a very long-lasting effect, feels lovely at the time tho :) .

totally agree with LBB. Remedial massage, and it will need more than one treatment. Arnica can help with the pain. You can get this from a health food shop or boots.

Be wary of painkillers. Having been prescibed them after a car crash I now can't take any ibuprofen type drugs as my stomach lining is now so irritated.

If its any help Eggsasperated,my pain was running down my shoulder to my arm/wrist/fingers and into my neck too. Now with ibuprofen feeling better. Also, ha ha.....I am lop sided too. Yep, my pilates teacher told me I was particularly wonky last week. Now have to work out how quickly I can stop taking those wretched ibuprofen pills,,they make me feel quite sleepy. They seem to have helped with the muscle though. :D

Thanks clucker, it does help to know I'm not the only one. Do you know how yours started? Has your GP suggested any physio or other therapies? I'm still not sure what to do, I hate taking any pills but it was the co-dydramol that made me feel ill, I can manage the ibuprofen but I still want to stop them as soon as I can.

Great for self-confidence these Pilates teachers :lol::lol: .
