loumabel
one of my ex batts marigold died suddenly yesterday with no real warning, I just found her dead in the WIR. Today, one of her sisters, Rose is looking a little peaky. She is very quiet and and is sitting in the run snoozing, she is also not really eating and didn't even really want any meal worms at treat time. She was good chums with marigold and was really freaked out yesterday when i found Marigolds body, so I am wondering if she is just missing marigold or I have a real problem here and there is an underlying illness. She is not really showing any symptoms, no diarrhea or dodgy poo, no wheezing or breathlessness just the not eating and laying down. Shall I take her to the vet or does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong with her? The other girl that is with her seems fine at the moment and all the new girls next door seem to be fine too. mimi5
Well she could be a bit depressed. I lost a hen back in june, she died overnight in the cube and was the only hen left with my cockerel as the other 2 were brooding. Monty got very down and off food and no crowing. So I gave him nutri-drops and brought him in every evening for TLC and a few of his fav treats and thankfully he came round. They can suffer from shock easily. But maybe if these girls are ex-bats it's just their time? Is her comb blue/pale? If you have nutri-drops I'd give her those and maybe bring her in over night and keep her warm and dark. Hope she pulls through, keep us posted.
