Ain't Nobody Here
I've tentatively volunteered to be the H&S Rep at my work (a special school with about 100 pupils). Slightly nervous that I'm taking it on without much knowledge of what's involved (although I have spoken to the previous rep, who stood down officially a while ago). Are there any things I should consider before definitely agreeing?
kinsk
It's paper work all the way. Just remember that the things that may not seem important enough to record 'now' maybe very relevant later, if you have the documentation then you've ticked the box. Good luck. Snowy
HSE website has all you need to know: http://www.hse.gov.uk/ Your union will also be able to give you all the info about being a rep. As long as you apply common sense you will be fine - I do find common sense seems to be the one thing that is left out when it comes to elf n safety (one example: health and safety reps insisted the company I was working for supply rain proof ponchos for staff in case it was raining when we did a fire drill and there was a 'risk' that staff would catch cold )
Ain't Nobody Here
Thanks for that, Snowy, looks very helpful . Apparently, I'll be sent on a 5 day training course so that should sort me out .
