Auto feeder open and close button on app

I made a pavlova this afternoon for tomorrow's pud and left it in the top oven/grill to keep the worksurfaces free.

 

Asked OH to put the oven on for me for tonight's lasagne. Guess which oven he put on . Sadly, by the time he discovered he'd put the wrong one on, the pavlova was burnt and the whole house is now stinking. I'm not allowed to be cross because "he didn't do it on purpose".

 

I feel rubbish already (got a really annoying cough which keeps me up at night) and just wish I could go to bed and wake up in January .

 

Oh well, on the plus side, my mum's not speaking to me again so at least she won't be here tomorrow.

Poor you ANH! He didnt do it on purpose but men do tend to mess things up without doing it intentionally then profess innocence when challenged!

 

Can you make another pavlova? Hope your cough is better soon, I find Covonia cough mixture to be the only one that makes any difference to my coughs.....

Awww what a shame.

 

Is it just your immediate family for dinner tomorrow ? If so I'd give up now, a nice glass of wine (or I swear by hot whiskey, honey and lemon for a cold) and early night. They can cope with dinner whenever it happens and whatever is served.

 

Hope tomorrow goes better (sorry about your mum but as you say it does have it benefits )

Ah what a shame.

 

Hope you are feeling a bit better tomorrow and get a reasonable nights sleep. Someone told me to rub Vick on the bottoms of your feet at bedtime , I did it when I had an annoying cough that would not shift last year and I seemed to sleep a bit better, may be worth a try

Oh no ! Hope your cough does a runner and you get some sleep tonight. Both OH and I have, on separate occasions, put the grill on instead of the oven (we don't have separate oven and grill) and have ruined the dinner...singed on top, raw underneath xx

Oh no ... grrr, just forget it and move on, and as suggested above, have a glass of something. Can you make a sponge cake, and just pile it with whatever the pavolova was going to be filled with?

I've salvaged the top crust bits but the rest had to go in the bin . I can use the lemony filling, some whipped cream and blueberries and that'll have to do!

 

Got a bottle of Night Nurse at the ready!
