The Dogmother
I am in a quandary.... I currently have music stored on my work PC (mainly because I mostly listen to it there) and synchronised with my ipod. I'd like to have it on my home laptop too and the most logical answer seems to be that I store it online on one of the cloud-type applications so that I can access it anywhere and from any device. Does anyone else do this and how have they found it?
Snowy
I think you only get 5gb of free storage in the cloud, anymore and you have to pay for it. 5gb doesn't hold much of my music, so I only use it to sync essentials between devices. It works fine, but I keep all my music on my laptop and just transfer playlists onto my iphone to save memory. Maybe you could just sync certain playlists to the cloud so you could use them at work? The Dogmother
Hmmm, I haven't even got round to making up playlists; I go through phases of listening to music, I won't have any for a while, then get into it again.
..lay a little egg for me
I'm interested in this too. I use Dropbox to back up my important files and the songs I have bought on Amazon are automatically backed up in the cloud. However I saw on the reviews of the Amazon mp3 app that some people who had exported their entire music library to the cloud were having trouble accessing it. But it's been a while since I looked at it so I'm interested to hear if anyone has experience...anyone?
The Dogmother
I use the Hotmail Live Skydrive for any documents I may need on the go, but it's only 7gb of free space, so not enough for my music. I use an Android device and am thinking of using their music hub to store my music files, will have to have a look at the cost for extra space though. gongladosh
if you have a recent (or currently buy) a Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung have a deal with dropbox that gives you another 45gb or so of space for a year or two. You do have to claim it from dropbox though (it's easy enough)
The Dogmother
I was given a Samsung tab for christmas, so I will see if that qualifies for it.
Charlottechicken
I use an external hard drive to store all my photos, music and documents on. I can just plug it in to any device, including the telly, although sometimes viewing your photos at 40" wide is not recommended
