smartrus
Hi guys, just wondered if there was anything I need to know regarding chickens and the snow? Any extra foods or treatments? Thanks.

smartrus
Thanks very much,a very helpful article. My chickens are in a converted shed and as there are 10 of them I'm guessing they will keep each other warm.
gongladosh
if it's dry but ventilated and there's a few of them, they'll be fine.
Alis girls
They don't like it
smartrus
Thanks, yes its well ventilated and they huddle together. Has anyone used tonic? Is it something I need?
mollyripkim
I always give mine cod liver oil in their feed when its really cold, just a splash mixed well mixed in then a sprinkling of chicken spice, the cod liver oil helps it stick. Not sure if its absolutely necessary but makes me feel better!
libby22
I give mine warm mash for their breakfast - just their normal pellet/crumb food with some warm water mixed in. Don't know if it helps but I feel better giving them a warm breakfast and they gulp it all down so must be ok

BuryFCA1
Mine love their pellets in the morning mixed with hot water and hot milk. The milk gives them calcium and is good for the eggs too
