Prongs
Not exactly true Martin! The floods had already come yesterday and the postman waded through the water to get to my cousins house to deliver my book (which she very kindly bought me) so I'm in doubt of them being wrecked! Snowy
I've only just got up - finished it at 3.40 this morning Needless to say I now have a pounding headache and am just having a strong black coffee to recover - worse than a hangover Brilliant book though, loved it that answers to lots of puzzles were revealed. So many books fail to answer their own puzzles. Gosh, I can't even think straight - I'll not do that again in a hurry, getting a bit old for stopping up all night. You might wanna read it again in a week or so when your memories faded slightly (no I'm not calling you old) and read it again slower, you take much more in! Snowy
I should hope not young man! But I agree, I read so fast I definitely need to reread it to savour it properly. In fact I probably need to reread from The Order of the Phoenix as there were references in this book to things that had happened previously and I couldn't remember them. Or maybe my brain IS getting old Oh dear, you have me worried now
Prongs
I'm terribly sorry! Don't worry, my young brain has forgot everything from the other 6 books as well as the 7th, so it's not just you!
sam42
I usually read it again at a slower pace, I also re read all the others before this one came out to make sure I hadn't forgotten things that are referred to. Very sad about Hedwig and Dobby.
bronze
I'm going to go back and read all of them again now. So I know what I'm looking for but also I'll not do it all it one sitting. I'm a fast reader and people don't tend to believe I've taken it all in. Ok I did forget something in the last chapter but it was the early hours of the morning
Cinnamon
I am a fast reader too I have nearly finished now (Fred has just copped it), then Devon is reading it, then I am having it back for a second go I am looking forawrd to finding out why Dumbledore trusted Snape so much - there was always a cast iron reason, wasn't there, & I want to know what it is! craftyhunnypie
Ha ha - I've only started my book about an hour or so ago. They have just been flying throught he air after drinking Polyjuice and poor hedwig got hit and is dead. Got very upset! They are now at the burrow. Going to give it another bash. I don't really like all the Ministry / Order stuff, I get a bit bored with that. I like Harry & his mates antics, the lessons & Diagon Alley. Wouldn't you just love to try that butterbeer? Guest
I'm another one who re- reads it after a first run through. I'm still thinking about it all and will probably start reading it again next week. I might try and catch the movie of the other one this week too.

Ok I did forget something in the last chapter but it was the early hours of the morning Ditto! I am reading the deathly hallows slowly now, I had to race through it to see what happened as I couldn't wait... when I read the half blood prince I sneaked a peep at the ending first & it spoiled it for me, so I wasn't about to do that again. I think it's great that the snitch from Harry's first quidditch match turned out to be so important........... no wonder the books were 5 years in planning! Snowy
I think JK has done an amazing job of tidying up loose ends and explaining everything. I loved this book!
Louise
I finished it last night eventually When I left work I only had the last chaptewr and the 19 years later to go but i had to go to Argos, M&S and the feed merchants on the way home. I had an hour of ironing when I got in and the tea to cook and wash up I also had words with my dad about how tidy he is leaving things I got no peace on the last chapter but as I sat down to read the last 6 pages I demanded to be left alone Then I went to bed I couldn't believe Hedwig got killed off I was almost in tears for Dobby too I was also disappointed about the ending after so many years which makes me think there may be more maybe a prequell and someting to fill in the missing years All in all I enjoyed it though I am about ot read it agian more slowly then I will do the whole lot of seven one after the other Sad git I know
Cinnamon
I took a decadant extra hour in bed this morning & finished the book I loved it - loved the way it ended, loved the 19 years later, loved it all really! Told you that DD's death was planned & that Snape would be a hero I wonder if the character who got a reprive was Molly Weasley? I wonder what happened to the Malfoys & Luna too....I would have loved to have heard that she married Neville Great that Kingsley became Minister for Magic (albiet temporary) I reckon its about time we saw DAME Jo Rowling, with what she has done for reading, the British book industry & the British film industry
Snowy
I think a Damehood must be on the cards for her! I would also have liked to know what happended to the Dursleys, and whether Harry ended up as an auror, and what Ron and Hermione ended up doing ... so not as many answered questions as I thought! Ooh I know - Hermione for Headmistress of Hogwarts! Now that could be a good sequel!
bronze
I thought Luna and Dean....

Cinnamon
Was it Prongs? Thanks for letting me know...shame we don't hear about him at the end too
Louise
he is mentioned briefly at the end as the Potter boys have an invitation to meet him at his hut when the new term starts I was convinced he had been killed by the Spiders a sort of grim irony
Prongs
It sure was - I was reading a J.K Rowling interview yesterday evenng. She must be writing another book!
Lovemychooks
What a fantastic book, although I read it too quickly because I was dying to see what happened at the end so i'll read it again slowly this time. I must say that I loved the ending where Ginny & Harry are together, as are Hermione & Ron...must be the old romantic in me !

I hated the ending, I liked the happyness of it all but it skipped forward to much, I wanna find out what jobs they're doing etc. what happens to the rest of the DE's after book 7 things like that. Louise
I think there will have to be something else to explain all of that as there will be alot of fans asking for it and she will have a captive audience
Prongs
Alot to explain but would it make a thrilling book? She could write it after us all asking for it, and it might cover up all the loose ends but it might also be completely lacking in excitement; none of us want that.
