charly1979
Often I read on here problems that sellers have with in some cases very cheeky buyers. I am waiting for two items to arrive they are later than I had hoped even taking the easter holidays into account. So I sent a message to the seller, and I haven't had a response which I find rather annoying. So I logged back in today to send another message which is what I thought I had done. I clicked contact seller than my item has not arrived filled out the form and put my message in then pressed send. I have just checked my email and it would appear that I have opened a case !!I don't want to open a case (well I do if im not getting my item) So why why was it not clear when I was on Ebay that I was opening a case ??? I don't want to put the sellers back up as the items are two Thomas take n play toys that I want for my sons birthday. I really hope the seller wont be cross mind you id like my stuff too (I was annoyed they didn't package them together as in the listing they said that they do this ? perhaps its tooo big)
merlina
This seems to be part of ebay's 'improvements' Exactly the same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago You can contact the seller without opening a case - but you can't do it from the page of the item you bought - you have to go to their profile. This is *very* annoying! (it's also annoying that they've removed the central search box - the one I always used - which 'remembered' my searches - now I have to type them in every time - grrrrrr! snowberry
Why change what's not broken. Photobucket springs to mind as well... My daughter ordered a pennyboard (a skateboard) at the beginning of the holidays so that she'd have time to play on it during the hols. It never arrived
charly1979
Exactly why why do they change things that seem to be working fine ?? Anyway luckily the parcel arrived but funnily enough 'next day' delivery marked on the parcel well they were shown as being dispatched a while ago ?? and I didn't receive any communication from the seller which I find really odd don't think I will leave them feedback at all
CatieB
I've just done this too. I'm embarrassed and not sure what to do but feel like a fool. I bought 50 pairs of earplugs and wanted to tell the seller that I only received 48. I feel petty enough telling them, but as DH said if they miss 2 pairs from every order it's not on so I should let them know. But now it's opened a case too, they really are going to think its OTT of me. What should I suggest or just leave it?
merlina
I'd write and tell them that you'd just wanted to write to them but the ***** new system went straight to opening a case - help avoid misunderstanding (in opening the case you will probably find that the original message you sent hasn't got through - you might want to check the 'case' messages for that)
soapdragon
I have a theory that, in seeking to improve things (that generally DON'T need improving!), we simply make them more complicated! I, too, subscribe to the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' school!
CatieB
Wow the seller has replied immediately to apologise and say he will be sending me another 10 pairs. What' a good seller, I replied to explain I hadn't meant to open a case. However I agree with the above posts...what a daft change, the buyer should be given an option as we all know some mistakes are genuine and can be resolved easily. Progress hey
charly1979
Wow that's great I agree these changes are making things more complicated EBay is getting to be a pain in the bottom
