So what do you think apparantly they cant destroy it it has no upkeep etc theyll have their 3m run thats wood chip that they can scratch im just not convinsed but see the logic heeeeeeelllllpppp xx
Patricia W
How would you clean their poo up from it? I think chickens and grass, artifical or real, don't really go together!
merlina
I agree with Patricia - I think it would get yeukky quite quickly. And I'd worry about them eating the plastic/whatever it's made of as they do eat grass
Luvachicken
We have astro turf in our preschool garden. It had a funny smell to start with which has gone now. It looks like it is made of chopped up artificial Christmas trees and it gives off quite a bit of static. I'd use something else personally. Adams Egg
I had our lawn done in January with artificial grass, it comes in differing lengths, had the 28 mm type. It is fantastic, no more mud, green all the time, the chickens just walk over it to the the flower beds. They peck at things in it but it doesn't lift or come adrift. Any poo stays on the top to be s"Ooops, word censored!"ed up by they snow shovel, it also washes very easily and is so easy to keep clean. Cannot recommend it enough, especially if you don't want a mud bath

Adams Egg
It was my DW who persuaded me to stump up the cash, she apparently had had enough of the endless mud in. He kitchen. I get a new toy to blow the leaves away and gain an hour each week from not mowing
