Eglu Cube, auto door, walk in run for sale South West London

Hi All

 

I have an Eglu Go with run and run extension so the run is about nine foot long. The birds would have the opportunity to roam outside on most days.

 

Would this arrangement be suitable to house two full sized orpintons?

 

Advice would be most welcome as I don't want to make what could be an expensive mistake.

You'll have no problems. I had my two Orps and a standard red hen in my Eglu Classic and normal run without any issues. They loved the run, but didn't think much of the snow!

I have to say I disagree. the Go isnt generous on space and personally I wouldnt house very big birds in one

I think it depends on how much free-ranging you let them have. I don't find the classic standard run, let alone the Go run, suitable for any more than 3 bantams - and even then I let them out frequently.

Yes, that's right, I should have added that I have a large garden and the Orps were out-and-about most days. Also, when I got them they were pre point-of-lay, so not at their full adult size (as you can see from the picture). Once they did get to full size I'd built my WIR, and the Omlet run became redundant for the most part. It was good for introductions though, as 'Morehens' struck soon afterwards resulting in a current flock of 6 hens, 2 cockerels and 3 chicks .

Thanks for the advice, I thought I might have been OK because of the run extension and the fact that they would have the opportunity to free range, but if they won't fit in the chicken house then they simply won't fit!!.

 

I'll have to go back to the drawing board. Perhaps two or three buff orpington banatams if I can find any for sale around Bedfordshire.
