CatieB
I didn't want to hijack the other fast diet thread but thought I would mention this variation to see if anyone is doing it and in case it suits others too. I have just started and its going well so far. I don't think I could fast for the two days on the other plan as it is an understatement to say that I am known to be moody, well ok really grumpy, when I am hungry. DH says I'm like a toddler in a tantrum. There is a book but an over view herehttp://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/woman/4933461/8-hour-diet-lets-you-cheat-and-still-lose-up-to-10lb-in-a-week.html
Ain't Nobody Here
I can't believe you can lose 10lb in a week, that seems unlikely . Surely we "fast" for 8 hours every night anyway - while we're asleep?
CatieB
I can't believe you can lose 10lb in a week, that seems unlikely . Surely we "fast" for 8 hours every night anyway - while we're asleep? I do take such claims with a pinch of salt. IF there was any truth in them I'm sure it would only apply to those with lots to loose who only ate the ideal foods. In relation to the 8 hours sleep that still leaves an additional 16 hours, so you are then cutting your eating time in half. For a terrible grazer like me that has to be a good thing. It's making me think about what I'm eating too. Yesterday I found that when it came to my evening meal I didn't really want it all, for me that's a real
chickencam
We read this at the weekend, you fast for 16 hours a day, the other 8 you eat healthily, complex carbs, good protein plenty of fruit and veg, common sense really.
Ain't Nobody Here
Doesn't sound too different to the 5:2 really. Just different timings! I need to fast today - pigged out yesterday .
Chickvic
Looking on the 5:2 forum, lots of people try this as maintenance after losing the weight they wanted to.
Ain't Nobody Here
Yes, I noticed that too . I think I'll probably do a mixture of both depending on which is easiest at the time!
HarrisonFamily
I have been doing this for about 3 months ...I eat what I want during the 8 hours and for the first 6 weeks couldn't wait for my window to start and quite often crammed something normally unhealthy before it finished.....however I have lost about 9 pounds and am finding that I no longer crave the chocolate as I did before and actually want healthier food.... I have even had more energy and ran down the hill like a crazy lady when no one was looking...(such fun you should try it !!!!!!! ) I couldn't do the 5:2 diet as with a house full of children meals are too important to miss.... chickencam
I am going to give this a go this week, so nothing tomorrow until lunchtime, because I just found some roasted rhubarb in the fridge from last week and some whipped cream from yesterday. Time to step away from the fridge for the next 16 hours.
