new babies!!!

Recommended Posts

I am hopelessly, completely in love with three little bundles of fluff :D Currently un-named, collected yesterday, we are now the uber proud Mummy and daddy to a pair of 7 wk old lavendar aruacanas and one utterly adorable 6 wk old silver partridge pekin

Given that one of our moggies has taken an unhealthy interest in sitting on TOP of their run, and that the run was starting to show its age, we decided that a new one was needed.... so, on to ebay. Picked up a wooden coop from a local chap and have to say was pretty appalled when we got it home to see how poor its condition was :x As new condition? I don't *bleep* think so.

However, with the exception of the roof which is falling apart, the actual wood panel and coop itself are in reasonable nick, just utterly filthy - a rabbit has been kept in there and it looks like its never been cleaned :vom: So, we took it all apart and I have just spent over an hour in the pouring rain scrubbing all the fur/poo/algae/general muck off each panel in turn... its going into the shed to dry off over night before having a squirt of total mite kill spray and a coat of paint to preserve the wood and keep it in good condition (chook-safe obviously). My wonderful, amazing husband (who loves the girls as much as I do) intends to spend tomorrow making a new roof for the coop as the existing one in addition to falling apart also have mould growth on it while I paint the panels.

In the meantime, this means our babies are having another night of luxury in an indoor rabbit cage in our spare room! xxx

ps I *promise* pics will be up as soon as I remember how to do it
