Eglu Go With 2m Run For Sale

Hello everyone

 

We have six chickens and with the longer summer evenings they aren't going to bed until really late. Sometimes we have to stay up waiting for them to go in.

 

We were just wondering what other chicken owners do regarding this???

My ex batts who I have had for three weeks go in to the cube about half nine, they get restless if not out by about 6.30am. Not sure if this is normal or right as I am a newbie:)))

One of my groups of girls won't go to be until it's properly dark - they just don't believe it's bedtime

I've been poorly and wanting to go to bed early - no chance

So I'm left waiting up for the chickens

I'm sure having hens has a lot in common with having teenagers in so many ways

I gave up when I was waiting for them to go to bed - now leave the cube open!! They are still up at 10pm and are up at about 4am!!

My three new chickens did not gointo the Eglu run until 11.20pm last night, I am having to stay up until I can lock the run door, it is still quite light at this time of night this far North at this time of the year. They are up and about just a few hours later, we only get 3 hours of true darkness at this time of year. Roll on the darker evenings I am leaving the Eglu door open so they can get up when they are ready but making sure the run door is shut. I am also trying to train them to go back in the run when I want by throwing mixed corn in the run.
