Hello all

Sorry if this is an oft repeated topic.. I always used to buy the Smallholders range of Layers pellets, then we got exbatts so switched to the exbatts crumb.., then ended up using Omlet's layers pellets. About to start a new flock of hopefully 7 bantams. They will all be around 16wks and part fr/part WIR.. I don't drive so will need the feed delivered. What do you suggest, considering price & suitability? Thank you!

Any thoughts anyone? I just wondered if there was an firm favourite amongst omletters? I can't remember why I switched from the Smallholders range to Omlet own.. Possibly cos at the time Omlet delivery was most efficient... But there seem to be a lot more options now than when I first started keeping chooks 9 years ago....

:?

I think I prefer either the fancy feed company as it seems good and smallholders range, I think they do layers for free ranging hens. I've also used Dodson & Horrel and Farmgate brand as well. I just get whatever I can when I'm near chicken feed places really. My hens are not fussy thankfully & egg production and hens condition has been good with with all brands. I dont need to get mine delivered so can't comment on that side of things.

If you have a Countrywide store near you they deliver (for free if it's a certain amount)

I use Allen and Page organic layers pellets which they all like - including the new girls who had something different before (I mixed the old-type of food they came with, with 'my' food for a bit to get them used to the change)

I've just started getting stuff delivered since I got 'morehens' - the delivery was free as I arranged it in store, but the website wanted to charge!
