How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

I've just started putting garlic powder in the girls feed after one was a little under the weather and I thought it may give her immune system a bit of a boost. She's on the mend with or without is's help so that's good but the added bonus is the smell of the poos. I was just outside when 2 of my girls did caecal poos (which any of you who have been around their girls when they do one know that they stink something rotten) and they smell of garlic no nasty caecal poo smell at all. Hopefully it will deter biting insects too. Anyone who loves their girls but doesn't love the smell of their poos that stuff is great (especially if you're unfortunate enough to have one do a caecal poo ON you whilst handling the lol. I know some people don't like the smell of garlic but most I think would prefer it to hen poo smells. I do a daily, sometimes twice daily poo pick to keep the run and house as fresh as I can but I imagine the neighbours would rather the faint smell of garlic too.

I have been using garlic in the water for ages hoping it seeps thru their skin and deters lice etc. didn't know about garlic powder..where do you get it from? What type do you use?

I use NAF's Garlic and Mint, which is excellent, the dogs get it too as it helps to deter any bugs on them.

Oooh, I've seen that and wondered.... How often do you feed it?

I just mix a scoop in with about 2-3 litres of pellets, they seem to like it well enough.

You can get it from most horsey supply shops - they don't stock it in the poultry section, in my experience, but you'll find it with horse supplements.

Yes, they make an identical product for horses, the pricing is about the same.

do you feed it all the time or just say 1 week a month?

Whatever you like, although (obviously) the effect will be greater if you add it to the feed all the time.

You only need a small amount; you shouldn't be able to smell it on the chickens or in their run.
