My YD dyed her hair first purple then red on the first Monday of the holidays, it has now faded to a streaky blond/pink. This will not be accepted as suitable by her school in a little over a week. Can anyone advise on hair colour removers. We have been looking at Colour B4 in Superdrug which is on offer at the moment. Has anyone used this or similar products?

 

She was going to dye it blond if the removal didn't work, but I am not happy with this because she has a lovely natural colour and will get into a cycle of dying it because her roots will always grow darker.

I used colour b4 a couple of weeks ago to remove build up of home hair colour, just your run of the mill brown though. It did work, but I needed lots of conditioner afterwards. They do say do a strand test so you can see the result.

YS dyed his hair (normally mid brown) a blue black a while back and used a product that was supposed to return your hair to its normal colour. It turned out rather orange and we had an emergency dash to a hairdresser for a brown rinse. I think a lot depends on your original colour I would certainly do a test first.

What dye did she use?

A lot of the bright colours fade very very quickly, & this can be accelerated with the use of Head & Shoulders Shampoo

Many a time I have repeatedly scrubbed a daughters head with this shampoo to get a wild shade out for school

Thanks Sarah, she has used quite a bit of head and shoulders to no avail.

 

This morning I used the Colour B4 and ....it worked I now have my lovely blond daughter back, she looks nearly as odd as she did 5 weeks ago with deep purply red hair.

 

I took my time over the application it took about half an hour to thoroughly apply it the she had to cover her hair with cling film for another half hour, then came two ten minutes rinses. I am thinking of charging salon rates, the result is o good I think I may have earned a little fleeting respect.

Good news I think how succcessful it is depends on the tones in your natural hair according to the hairdresser who fixed YS's. If you have any reddishness at all it can go orange.

YS is sporting quite orange hair again as he tried to correct something that was supposed to cover the blond colour he had put on the top
