Are Frizzles a breed in their own right or is it a type of feathering? I've seen that people on here have frizzle Polands and frizzle Pekins, but I've seen an advert for Frizzle bantams for sale near me (not that it's Morehens or anything.. ) which has got me wondering? The pure breed Frizzle (available in Bantam and Large Fowl) is frizzle feathered and clean legged. Chortle Chook Posted August 28, 2013 Share Posted August 28, 2013 I have a frizzled Poland who has very much the personality of a Poland. Her feathers go backwards, over her head which is the frizzle feathering. I also have 3 breed Frizzles. This breed is quite rare, in particular in the standard size (mine are bantams), but I happen to be lucky enough to live right near one of the top breeders (she gets loads of prizes). My three are all ones that did not quite make the show bench but I love them and think them as pretty as pretty. They have the typical backward pointing feathers (up towards the head), clean yellow legs (well one of mine has the fault of green legs) and busy but gentle little personalities. Here are some pictures for you: My frizzed Poland (she is self black, but the chamois are more commonly found and look like darling little owls, I'm hoping to get one this autumn) My wite Frizzle (pure breed) called Dandelion My cuckoo Frizzle, Dumpy, showing off a clean yellow leg (she totally lives up to her name ) and my latest acquisition - wee baby buff Frizzle, Doughnut (with the faulty green stockings) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They certainly look cuddly and being very food oriented they quickly become tame. They'd go well with Pekins (but are probably a bit bigger in size).
