Ain't Nobody Here
I am now the proud owner of a new Nexus 7 tablet . What apps would you recommend for a tablet? I've got the Kindle app (cool that it synchs with my actual Kindle ) and have been playing 7x7 which is a bit addictive. Any other suggestions? chickencam
I am completely addicted to SongPop and words with friends, also love Spotify and all of the on demand tv apps.
Egluntyne
Jigsaw is very absorbing. No idea of it is available for tablets other than IPads though.
Ain't Nobody Here
There seem to be hundreds of jigsaw apps - has yours got a more specific name or a recognisable image I could search for?
yvonne
If you like card games, spider solitaire is very addictive. Other apps I use a lot are the weather (BBC one is good), twitter and BBC news. You can also easily create shortcuts to favorite websites. Love my Asus.
The Dogmother
I find the Android Weather Channel app to be very accurate. I use a few others - Dropbox, Google Sky Map, AVG anti virus, Kitchen Timer, and Skype.
Egluntyne
There seem to be hundreds of jigsaw apps - has yours got a more specific name or a recognisable image I could search for? It is called Jigsaw Puzzle and is made by Critical hits software LLC. It seems specific to the ipad, but I guess they are much of a muchness. chickencam
Oh dear I shouldn't have looked at this thread, I spent over an hour last night doing a jigsaw of a ginger cat. My OH bought me a real 1000 piece jigsaw for Christmas, but we were away for a few days and I haven't had the time or space to do it, this is a great alternative. I have also downloaded the BBC Weather app, because it is one of the two permanent tabs open in safari, the other one being this forum of course. Ain't Nobody Here
I'm starting to regret starting the thread . I was up till 1.30 last night playing 7x7, Songpop, Jigsaw and Spider Solitaire . On the practical side, I've downloaded the Weather app and AVG too . Princess Leia
If you are into film and cinema, IMDb is definitely worth having. It's a brilliant source of info on everything to do with film and TV.
Ain't Nobody Here
I use that on my laptop, it's good. I do find the tablet handy for looking up stuff while you're watching something - if you can't remember who an actor is or can't work out what the heck's going on . Cinnamon
Yes, IMDB is brill - it will even show you locations where things were filmed, if you fancy visiting somewhere or think you recognise something. It appeals to the movie geek in me
