Ladylil
Have I got strange chickens or have other people got chickens who don't seen that fussed by mixed corn? I have 4 hybrids who are feed ad-lib layers pellets, are laying very well (3-4 per day), I give them a handful of corn in the morning with some live mealworms (this is an attempt to keep them quiet as not to upset any neighbours) and they sometimes have a handful in the late afternoon for something yo do. I gave them a handful at about 3.30 this eve and they haven't eaten it? Am I on my own??

Luvachicken
One of mine didn't like mealworms but she does now. But they all like corn. Maybe try just giving them a little bit in the evening, we can all have too much of a good thing.
Ladylil
Good idea Grandmashazzie, will give it a go . I don't give them that much luvachicken as am conscious of them getting porky then not laying. Funny girls!
Valkyrie
Mine won't eat the grain part - they have a little in the evening to fill them up for the night. I think they are fussy so and so's - bored with pellets (like the Garvo mixed in - will empty the lot to look for tastier morsels ) Bored with porridge in the mornings. Are quite happy to scoff the little teeny shoots of the chives though. I also think it's linked with the weather.
Ladylil
Funny Valkyrie mine seem to eat the seeds but leave the corn part. Perhaps you're right re the weather, I do hope the sun comes out soon, desperately need to complete WIR renovations in order to combat the mud soup that is out there at the mo!
