The Dogmother
I make these regularly and just thought I'd post the recipe as they are so delicious. Mixed raw nuts (I use hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds and cashews) Mix in a bowl, some olive oil (couple od tablespoons), co"Ooops, word censored!"ly ground sea salt, ground pepper, muscovado sugar, finely chopped rosemary leaves, tamari soy sauce and some smoked paprika... quantities depend on your personal taste, sometimes I add finely crushed garlic or a bit of dried chilli. Toss the nuts in the mixture until they are coated, then spread them on a baking sheet with a sheet of greaseproof paper on it. Toast slowly at about 150deg for around 10 minutes, checking all the time as they can suddenly burn quickly. Great for snacking, or Christmas goody bags. chickencam
I love freshly roasted nuts we had some lovely walnuts once as part of some tapas, they were slightly sweet served hot and were delicious, not sweet enough to be dessert though, they obviously had other flavours too. Anyone any ideas how to recreate something like them. I know this is a bit vague, but any pointers will do.
