I keep mine in the packaging when I'm not using it and it keeps fresh. CatieB Posted June 6, 2014 Share Posted June 6, 2014 I haven't tried that as I've never heard of it but can I give you my recommendation, tried and tested as below. My hubby is a first class bug magnet who gets horrendous bites, he is well placed as a tester as we live on a river. Anyway Holland and Barrett recommended that he take garlic capsules and vitamin B tablets (I forget which B vitamin, I think its B1 but they know in there as I usually have to ask) You have to take it continually as it has a build up effect. Anyway the summer I bought the tablets my hubby didn't get bitten The next year he didn't take them as he refused to pay for them (and when I got the garlic I forgot to the get the odourless one so he wouldn't take it)...he got bitten!! He back on the tablets this year, no bites yet but it is probably a bit early. He is vitamin B deficient (we found out this year) so maybe he will be less tasty.
