curlu
Hi everyone Had my beehaus since last summer and my bees are thriving in it. Having only recently started to use the queen excluders I am really struggling to get bees to move up to the supers and draw the foundation and I wonder if the queen excluder is part of the problem as they're getting filled up with wax, tried leaving them off and ended up with eggs in the super that was drawn! I have read that they are considered to be a real weakness in the beehaus and people have complained about them fitting poorly, sagging and generally being poorly designed. Has anyone found an alternative option?
Old Speckled Hen
I hate those floppy plastic excluders and have made my own framed wire ones to fit the poly hives I have (though I do not own a Beehaus) Might that work? You can buy unframed excluders from Thorne to trim and frame yourself.
